Laura Jeannin, newly appointed Music Director of the Sacramento Baroque Soloists, is a versatile performer on both period and modern instruments throughout the United States. She has appeared as a soloist with Juilliard415 and New York Baroque Inc. and has performed as a violinist and violist under renowned conductors such as Nicholas McGegan, Masaaki Suzuki, William Christie, Richard Egarr, Jordi Savall, Monica Huggett, Mark Morris, Manfredo Kraemer, and Jeffrey Thomas.

Her violin concerto performance in New Zealand was praised by the Otago Times for its “excellent pace, and its exciting and forward motion.”

Mrs. Jeannin has also performed with the Portland Baroque Orchestra, Bach Collegium San Diego, Juilliard415, New York Baroque Inc., Archetti, Clarion Music Society, Sacramento Baroque Soloists, Ars Minerva, Lyra Baroque Orchestra (under Jacques Ogg), San Jose Baroque Orchestra, the San Francisco Bach Choir, the UC Berkeley Chorus, and many more.

A dedicated educator, Mrs. Jeannin teaches privately in Pleasant Hill and has coached at the Sacramento Youth Symphony Summer Workshop and the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra camp.

She studied at the Juilliard School and Sacramento State University. Mrs. Jeannin plays a 1690 Caspar Borbon violin, made in Brussels. When not making music, she enjoys baking, photography, knitting, and spending time with her daughters and husband.
